Nuclear Strike #1
The first nuclear strike will occur in an area in modern day Jordan, once known as Edom. This is likely the “domino” preceding the global nuclear war. The Bible says Israel will bring God’s wrath on Edom:
"I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance," says the Lord GOD.” (Ezekiel 25:14, New King James Version)
Israel’s destruction of Edom is called God’s “vengeance,” yet they will do this according to His anger. Of course, “anger” is synonymous with “wrath.” Israel will execute God’s wrath—both are not mutually exclusive. Sometimes God uses humans to bring forth His will.
Many Christians are unaware Edom’s destruction is a key event in Biblical prophecy. Soon, there will be an attempted invasion of Israel by Jordanian and Iraqi troops. This will be followed by an unprecedented disaster—likely nuclear.
By a simple analysis of these prophecies, I wrote this in 2006:
“Since this battle will occur in the future, the government of Jordan will likely fall into the hands of radical extremists. Of course, it is possible that there could be an uprising against Israel that the current Jordanian government simply will not be able to contain. Either scenario could occur today.” (Rise of the Assyrian: The Antichrist, the Beast, and the Revived Babylonian Empire. Page 69)
Since I wrote these words, the Middle East is about to boil over. The king of Jordan to recently threaten war:
“King Abdullah II told CNN’s Becky Anderson in an exclusive interview this month that there is “concern” in his country about those in Israel trying to push for changes to his custodianship of the Muslim and Christian holy sites in Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem, warning that he has “red lines.” “If people want to get into a conflict with us, we’re quite prepared,” he said. “I always like to believe that, let’s look at the glass half full, but we have certain red lines… And if people want to push those red lines, then we will deal with that.” (CNN. Jordan king warns of ‘red lines’ in Jerusalem as Netanyahu returns to office. By Zeena Saifi. December 28, 2022)
https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/28/middleeast/jordan-king-warns-israel-jerusalem-mime-intl/index.html
Furthermore, many Jordanians that left to join ISIS are now returning. This makes future action against Israel more likely:
”The numbers tell the story—Jordan ranks as the third largest source of foreign fighters to the Islamic State “caliphate.” An estimated 3,000 Jordanian militants have traveled to join the ranks of the Islamic State, proving that the country is deeply susceptible to radicalization...As ISIS continues to decline in both Syria and Iraq, we can expect foreign fighters to make their way back to their respective countries of origin. In the case of Jordan, 250 of them already have. And while previously Amman had been successful at preventing attacks, it will become increasingly difficult to do so as the Jordanian “alumni” of the Syrian civil war begin to flood back. These foreign fighters, equipped with the Islamic State’s corrosive ideology and armed with combat training and battlefield experience, will have the ability to recruit and mobilize vulnerable populations directly—or influence them through proxies and family connections.” (The National Interest. Why Jordan is the Next for ISIS. October 31, 2018. by Emily Przyborowski.)
https://nationalinterest.org/blog/middle-east-watch/why-jordan-next-isis-34792
According to recent polls, a large majority of Jordanians oppose the peace treaty with Israel:
“A staggering 94 percent of Jordanians refuse to accept recognition of Israel and ties with the Occupation state, according to a new survey. In the Doha-based Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies' 'Arab Opinion Index 2022' last month, it was revealed that 94 per cent of Jordanian respondents were against any recognition of and ties with Israel, along with 99 per cent in Algeria and Mauritania, 96 per cent in Libya, 95 per cent in Palestine, 92 per cent in Iraq and 90 per cent in Tunisia.” (Middle East Monitor. 94% of Jordanians oppose recognition of Israel, new survey shows)
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20230215-94-of-jordanians-oppose-recognition-of-israel-new-survey-shows/
The return of ISIS—combined with the staggering number of Jordanians that oppose any ties with Israel—puts political pressure on Jordan’s king. Every time an incident occurs on the Temple Mount or in the West Bank, it brings his country closer to war.

Nuclear strike #2
The destruction prophesied in the 8th chapter of the book of Revelation matches the effects of a nuclear war in sequence. This devastation of the earth will be caused by the enemies of God:
“The nations raged, but your wrath has come, and the time for judging the dead, for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints and all who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying those who destroy the earth." (Revelation 11:18 New Revised Standard Version)
This is a prophecy of the Second Coming, when the nations of the world will be judged. In John’s vision, an angel states the time had come for “destroying them that destroy the earth.” In the Aramaic, the second word translated “destroy” is plural, which could indicate more than one destruction. These words echo Isaiah, who wrote “the fire of your enemies will devour them.”
In John’s vision, one third of the world is destroyed by fire. Because Russia and the United States currently have this capability, I wrote this in 2006:
“There is a “domino” theory, which asserts that if nuclear weapons are used—even on a small scale—this could trigger a nuclear disaster. The use of nuclear weapons on the battlefield could put the superpowers on alert, leading to an accidental launch. Many experts in foreign policy believe that a war in the Middle East could trigger such an accident. In addition to this fact, Russia is extremely unstable. Terrorists could strike at poorly guarded nuclear facilities, or the government itself could become unstable during a crisis...The Bible is clear—fire will fall at the beginning of the Great Tribulation. The nations which currently have the arsenal capable of destroying one third of the world are Russia and the United States. Unless the balance of the world’s superpowers shift quickly, and other nations greatly increase their arsenals, we can expect a showdown between Russia and the United States at any time.” (Rise of the Assyrian: The Antichrist, the Beast, and the Revived Babylonian Empire. Page 109)
When I wrote these words, there was not even a fraction of the political tension between Russia and the United States we see today. But since Vladimir Putin has invaded Ukraine, Russia has accused the United States of an assassination attempt. The Ukrainian army has also shot down a Russian hypersonic missile, using a US provided Patriot missile system. (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/russia-accuses-us-behind-ukraine-drone-attack-kremlin-putin-rcna82809)
Added to this, both the United Nations, and the United States, have accused Putin of war crimes. And against this backdrop, there are almost weekly nuclear threats from Russia.
A Potential Accident
According to a recent United Nations report, the risk of an accidental nuclear war is greater now than at any time since the beginning of the “Cold War”:
“Izumi Nakamitsu, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, reported that on 25 March, Moscow announced its agreement with Minsk to station its non-strategic nuclear weapons in Belarus. “I wish to be clear at the outset — all States must avoid taking any actions that could lead to escalation, mistake or miscalculation,” she stressed…” (United Nations. Risk of Nuclear Weapons Use Higher Than at Any Time Since Cold War, Disarmament Affairs Chief Warns Security Council. March 31, 2023)
https://press.un.org/en/2023/sc15250.doc.htm
A “miscalculation” leading to an accidental launch has almost occurred several times. In 1998, Norway’s launch of a rocket almost caused Russia to launch it’s nuclear arsenal against the United States:
“A routine scientific experiment in Norway led Russia to prepare to launch a nuclear attack on the United States...Coincidence, confusion, and nuclear weapons on hair trigger alert can be a deadly mix...fortunately, tensions between the US and Russia were low in 1995...things could be much more dangerous if tensions between the superpowers were high.” (Union of Concerned Scientists. Nuclear War and the Science Experiment of January 25, 1995. By David Wright. January 27, 2015)
An accidental launch would primarily release ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.)
https://blog.ucsusa.org/david-wright/nuclear-war-and-the-science-experiment-of-january-25-1995-603/
A “faulty launch warning” can cause this to happen:
“...ICBMs could trigger an inadvertent nuclear disaster through a faulty launch warning, an adversary’s miscalculation over U.S. intentions, or some other blunder. There were multiple near misses during the Cold War, when the annihilation of much of the human race was averted thanks only to luck or the common sense of a low-level officer. In February, the Pentagon postponed a long-planned ICBM test launch to avoid escalating tensions with Russia amid its war in Ukraine.” (Time Magazine. Inside the $100 Billion Mission to Modernize America’s Aging Nuclear Missiles. September 13, 2022)
https://time.com/6212698/nuclear-missiles-icbm-triad-upgrade
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recently, the fact of these near misses was confirmed by a former KGB agent:
“A former KGB agent warned that Russia could cause WW3 through an "accidental launch" due to the nation's "poorly maintained" nuclear arsenal, RadarOnline.com has learned. 73-year-old former Russian sleeper agent Jack Barsky warned about the risk of a nuclear apocalypse being higher than ever before. Barsky claimed that the world had come close to "Armageddon" at least three times since the Cold War between Russia and the West. Now, he fears that, due to Russia's lack of maintenance, an accidental launch could bring us into the end times.” (MSN.com (Radar Online.) Former KGB Agent Gives Chilling Warning: Vladimir Putin Could Trigger WW3 With 'Accidental' Nuclear Launch. By Joshua Wilburn.)
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/former-kgb-agent-gives-chilling-wa rning-vladimir-putin-could-trigger-ww3-with-accidental-nuclear-launch/ar-AA1aRDX7?li=BBnb7Kz
Poorly maintained nuclear silos can increase the chances of an accidental launch, and cause some missiles to fail. The failure of some of these ICBM’s could explain why humanity will not be completely destroyed.
Nuclear Strike #3
The third and final possible nuclear strike will destroy the city of Babylon at the end of the Great Tribulation:
"And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. "For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled."And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth." (Revelation 17:16-18 New King James Version)
The ten “horns” on “the Beast” will burn this city with fire. This judgment occurs because “God put it in their hearts to fulfill His will.” Babylon’s destruction will not happen because of unexplained supernatural events. Instead, God will put in in the hearts of leaders to assemble this military alliance against Babylon:
“The burden against Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw. "Lift up a banner on the high mountain, Raise your voice to them; Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles. I have commanded My sanctified ones; I have also called My mighty ones for My anger-- Those who rejoice in My exaltation." The noise of a multitude in the mountains, Like that of many people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together! The LORD of hosts musters The army for battle. They come from a far country, From the end of heaven-- The LORD and His weapons of indignation, To destroy the whole land. Wail, for the day of the LORD is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.” (Isaiah 13:1-6 New King James Version)
The destruction of Babylon takes place when “the day of the LORD is at hand.” “At hand” means “near.” A unified army will destroy the city. However, the land of Babylon will be destroyed by “the LORD and the weapons of his indignation.”
